The launch announcement

TVs are where Auracast's home use case starts, and the citable record starts with Samsung. On September 1, 2023, Samsung announced software updates for the Galaxy Buds2 Pro and its smart TVs, stating: "The new updates extend LE Audio capabilities to Samsung TVs with Auracast broadcast audio technology, enabling rich and complex audio transmission to nearby Bluetooth devices."

Samsung's own framing of what that buys a household: "users can turn their eligible device into a shared radio station and be able to broadcast across selected connected devices." The practical before-and-after was connectivity math — "it allows users to connect multiple sets of Buds to a compatible TV while users could only connect a maximum of two devices previously." Late-night movies without waking the house, for more than two people at once, from the TV's own broadcast rather than a daisy-chained accessory.

Which TVs, and what it took

Samsung footnoted the scope precisely, and the footnotes are the spec:

Note the honest limits inside Samsung's own text: the launch pairing was Buds2 Pro-to-TV, gated on updating both ends, with availability "vary[ing] by market and model." What the TV side enables
