Xiaomi Bluetooth codecs, quoted from Xiaomi's own global spec pages: the Xiaomi 15 lists SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, LDAC, LHDC 5.0 and LC3 over Bluetooth 6.0, and carries Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification. The Xiaomi 14 spec lists AAC, aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, LDAC and LHDC 5.0 over Bluetooth 5.4, with SBC riding along as the mandatory baseline the spec sheet does not need to mention. Two generations, two verbatim rows.
Figures on this page were checked September 2026. Every table row quotes Xiaomi's own spec pages with access dates.
Codec support matrix
| Model | Codec list, verbatim from mi.com | Source / as of |
|---|---|---|
| Xiaomi 15 | "Supports SBC/AAC/AptX/AptX HD/AptX Adaptive/LDAC/LHDC 5.0/LC3" over "Bluetooth 6.0, Dual-Bluetooth" | mi.com 15 spec page, 2026-09-22 |
| Xiaomi 14 | "Supports AAC/AptX/AptX HD/AptX Adaptive/LDAC/LHDC 5.0" over "Bluetooth 5.4, Dual-Bluetooth"; SBC present by A2DP mandate, unwritten | mi.com 14 spec page + A2DP 1.3.2, 2026-09-22 |
| Certification | Hi-Res and Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification listed in the audio sections of both spec pages | mi.com 14 and 15 spec pages + JAS definition, 2026-09-22 |
Per-model differences
Two changes sit between the two rows: the 15 spells out SBC and LC3, codecs the 14 page left implicit or absent, and the Bluetooth version moves from 5.4 to 6.0. The Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification line appears in both generations' audio sections. The aptX trio, LDAC and LHDC 5.0 carry over unchanged, so an aptX or LDAC-rated receiver pairs at full codec on either generation.
What this means in practice
- Xiaomi to any modern headphone or receiver: the negotiation has room, six shared codecs on the 14 and eight on the 15, so the link usually lands on a hi-res option before the fallback.
- With an iPhone in the house: iPhones negotiate AAC and SBC only, so the wide Xiaomi list stays out of that pairing; see the iPhone profile.
- LE Audio era: the 15 lists LC3 natively, the codec LE Audio and Auracast run on; the 14 page predates that listing.
- On a Windows PC: the PC side caps the link at its native codecs; see the Windows 11 profile.
Most phone makers publish a Bluetooth version and leave codecs to reviewers. Xiaomi enumerates the full list on its own spec pages, so this profile quotes the manufacturer instead of reconstructing from reviews, every row a verbatim line with its URL and date.
FAQ
Yes. The global spec page lists aptX Adaptive among eight supported codecs, alongside aptX and aptX HD, over Bluetooth 6.0 with dual-Bluetooth. It is one of the widest codec lists any phone maker publishes.
Not missing, just unwritten. The 14 spec page lists six codecs without SBC; SBC is the mandatory baseline of the A2DP profile itself, so every device that speaks the A2DP profile carries it and spec sheets can omit it. The 15 page spells it out.
A third-party hi-res codec listed by Xiaomi alongside LDAC. LHDC sits outside this site's codec profiles; the spec-sheet presence is archived here as written, and negotiation still picks a codec both ends share.
Redmi is a separate product line with its own spec pages. This profile covers the numbered Xiaomi flagships, the 14 and 15, because those carry the manufacturer-published codec lists this page quotes.
