Android Central's codec enumeration lists exactly those four; Samsung PR, quoted in a corrected What Hi-Fi report, says the S25 series supports "the same Bluetooth series as previous models including aptX and LDAC", so classic aptX is disputed between sources. aptX HD, Adaptive and Lossless are consistently absent, and Samsung appears nowhere in Qualcomm's aptX product directory. Per-model differences
The evidence covers the S25 family as a unit. The older story explains the folklore: Samsung phones have historically stuck with classic aptX where they carried any aptX at all, on Snapdragon models in some regions and not on Exynos ones, and never shipped the HD or Adaptive tiers broadly. No per-generation first-party codec table exists on Samsung's pages for us to archive, so this page does not print one; the Xiaomi profile shows what a manufacturer-published codec list looks like when it exists.
What this means in practice
- Galaxy to any third-party headphone: the negotiation draws on SBC, AAC and LDAC, with LDAC the higher-payload option both ends can carry; classic aptX may sit in the list on some units, disputed above.
- Galaxy to Galaxy Buds: the Seamless Codec pairing, Samsung's own lane, detailed on our Galaxy Buds page.
- aptX-HD-rated gear: an aptX HD receiver still works with a Galaxy source, on SBC, AAC or LDAC, because every A2DP sink carries the mandatory fallback.
- Auracast venues: a One UI 6.1+ Galaxy can join Auracast broadcasts natively.
aptX HD on Samsung is the rumor that keeps circulating: it traces to a report its own publisher corrected at Samsung PR's request. The settled part is narrower, LDAC plus the Seamless Codec with Galaxy Buds, and the disputed part, classic aptX, is labeled as exactly that.

It does not: the official Galaxy S25 Ultra spec page publishes the Bluetooth version and stops there, without enumerating audio codecs. That is why this page cites the codec owners' directories and dated reports instead, row by row.
